Tiny Feet, Big Impact Fun Run to Fight Youth Hunger
In Fairfax County, 34% of Fairfax County Public School children qualify for free or reduced-price meals and experience food insecurity over the weekends and during school breaks.
We invite all runners/walkers ages 4-12 to join us for the Tiny Feet, Big Impact 1 Mile Fun Run to Fight Youth Hunger. All runners will be asked to donate food items to assemble Weekend Meal Packs for hundreds of food-insecure students at elementary schools in Herndon to ensure these children have food over the weekends. Each meal pack will contain 10 essential food items to give each student two days' worth of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
Please bring two or more food donations to the race.
Event schedule:
- 9:00 – 9:30 AM Participant Check-In
- 9:30 AM – Fun Run Begins
- 10:00 – 11:00 AM - Post-race refreshments, Awards Ceremony, and Stations to make Encouragement Cards for Meal Packs
All participants will receive:
- The opportunity to contribute to the fight against youth hunger
- A participation souvenir
- Refreshments
- A chance to win awards for top runners
